What is pure cotton jacquard fabric?

2025-12-26

With the advancement of modern science and technology and the continuous improvement of textile printing and dyeing processes, fabrics are constantly being updated, especially in jacquard fabrics. Nowadays, Jacquard Fabrics include cotton jacquard, silk jacquard, large jacquard, small jacquard, silk-like jacquard, and so on. Each name corresponds to a different process. Today, we will talk about cotton jacquard! Pure cotton jacquard fabric is one of the most prominent home textile fabrics. This fabric is woven using warp and weft weaving techniques. When the warp knitted fabric is stretched in the horizontal and vertical directions, it exhibits excellent elasticity. However, warp knitted and shuttle woven jacquard fabrics have no elasticity in the horizontal and vertical directions. Therefore, this also determines the versatility of pure cotton jacquard fabric in use.
In fact, pure cotton jacquard fabric is a textile craft, which produces a visually appealing fabric with precise warp and weft weaving methods. It is a commonly used textile method in the modern textile industry. The specific textile method involves using warp and weft changes to form patterns during fabric weaving, with fine yarn count and extremely high requirements for raw cotton. It can be divided into shuttle weaving, warp-knitted jacquard, and weft-knitted jacquard. Weft-knitted fabrics have good elasticity when pulled in the horizontal and vertical directions, while warp-knitted and shuttle-knitted jacquards have no elasticity in either direction.

The pure cotton jacquard fabric is woven using an electronic air-jet loom. Unlike the single-color printing and dyeing of satin jacquard and yarn-dyed jacquard, it adopts a two-color over-dyeing jacquard fabric. The yarn-dyed fabric undergoes a mercerization process. Large jacquard can weave much richer patterns than small jacquard, including various beautiful designs such as flowers, birds, fish, insects, and flying animals.
The classification of jacquard fabrics leads to numerous differences in product color and style. Single-color jacquard is a type of jacquard dyed fabric, where the pattern is woven, rather than printed or embroidered. During the weaving process, the pattern is formed through changes in warp and weft structures, with fine yarn count and high needle and thread density. It remains intact and does not fade, offering a comfortable feel. Currently, jacquard is very popular in the market, and bedding made of satin appears high-end and tasteful. To distinguish the quality of satin, one should compare the yarn count and density.
